Air Oil Separator (AOS) - 996.2 Carrera 2/4/4S, 997.1 3.6L

Seen smoke from your exhausts on startup, suffered a misfire, or is your Check Engine Light illuminated?

These are all signs of a failing Air Oil Separator, which an integral part of your Porsches emissions control system.

AOS`s fail due to wear of their internal diaphragms over time, allowing oil to pass from the crankcase into the intake manifold. This affects vacuum, fuel trim, and in large quantities can cause hydrolock of your engine.

This genuine Porsche AOS will address these problems, and eliminate rough idle and smoking from the exhausts.

Note, that for track use, the standard AOS will still allow some oil vapour into the intake, resulting in smoking on the cool down lap, or after restarting.

For more frequent track use, use of this standard (regular) AOS together with a deep sump, and lower oil level is recommended, or the fitment of a Motorsports AOS and deep sump, together with lower oil level.
