Motul 8100 X-MAX 0W-40 Motor Oil

This 100% synthetic, high-performance motor oil carries Porsche A40 approval, and is recommended for 997.1 and 987.1 models (non-Mezger), but can be run in all 986, and 996 models as well.

The exact quantity of oil required will vary depending on how much is left in the system after draining - always start with these quantities and slowly add oil as indicated by the dipstick (986 / 996.1) or on-board gauge. If you haven`t already, we also recommend the fitment of a magnetic sump plug, enabling you to a) keep an eye on any ferrous debris floating around your engine, and b) pull that material (which is a normal part of wear) out of circulation.
