One of the handiest things about the Boxster is it`s practicality - decent storage front and rear. Over time the gas-strut fails, and your boot lid no longer stays up by itself. This can cause it to drop onto your fingers or worse, items stored in your boot. The lightweight panels on your Boxster's boot / trunk are easily damaged should they land on something sticking up or improperly packed. 

Prevent this from happening by replacing your strut (one needed, sold individually).
